Varsity:
Will Adversity Ensure Diversity at the University?
In the interest of diversity, the University of California is going to give extra weight to applicants who can show that they have overcome adversity. The language of the initiative is admirable enough, and proponents would likely insist that they are merely placing value on variety of “experience.”
